How it works
The app finds and groups. You review and decide. Deleted photos go to Recently Deleted rather than vanishing on the spot.
Scanning starts when you open the app, and carries on while the phone charges. A 100,000-photo library is indexed in seconds; the deeper analysis runs in batches and pauses itself when the battery is low or the phone runs hot.
Byte-for-byte duplicates, repeated shots and look-alike copies are grouped. Every group keeps one photo — the sharpest, eyes open, well exposed, or the one you marked as a Favorite.
Tap a photo to see it full screen, or put two side by side with sharpness, resolution, size and date. Untick anything, or tell the app to stop suggesting that album.
On iPhone, photos go to Recently Deleted for 30 days. On Android 11 and later, they go to the system trash. Every cleanup is logged in History: date, items, space.
Android 7.1 to 10 has no trash for photos: deleting is immediate. The app says so on the confirmation dialog, before you press it.
Safety rules
These are rules written into the app's code, not figures about its users — the app counts nobody.
What it looks for
Only what the app is sure of is ticked in advance. Everything else is suggested or just listed, and left to you.
Same size, same SHA-256 hash — two files identical to the byte. One copy is kept.
The same picture in a different file: a re-compressed copy, one sent through chat, one saved from the web.
Taken at most 5 seconds apart and nearly identical, bursts included. The best one is kept.
The same scene, shot within a few minutes. You may want to keep more than one.
Shaky, blown out, nearly black — pocket shots.
Recognised from the text on the image: a 4–8 digit code next to words like "OTP" or "verification code".

Matching photos, scoring sharpness, detecting faces, reading the text on screenshots — all of it happens on your phone. No server, no account, no upload.
Each group is scored on sharpness, open eyes, exposure and resolution. A Favorite is always kept, unless it is far worse — then the app keeps both and tells you.
Favorites, photos in albums you made, anything taken in the last 24 hours, banking and ticket screenshots. The app still shows them; it just does not select them.
Compress 4K video to 1080p, turn Live Photos into stills. The new copy keeps the date, location and albums; the original goes only when you choose "Replace".
The heavy analysis runs on the charger and stops itself in Low Power Mode, under 20% battery or when the phone runs hot. Interrupted, it resumes where it left off.

What the app cannot do, or does differently from what you might expect.
FAQ
No. All analysis runs on the phone, and the results sit in the app's own database on the phone. There is no account and no server to upload to. The Privacy page lists each kind of data and where it lives.
Never. It only pre-selects what it is sure of, and nothing is deleted until you press Delete and confirm on the system's own dialog.
On iPhone, open Photos → Recently Deleted; photos stay there for 30 days. On Android 11 and later they go to the system trash (unless you chose "Delete permanently" in the app's Settings). On Android 7.1 to 10, and for anything in Files, deletion is immediate — the app says so before you confirm.
Because the photos are sitting in Recently Deleted or the trash. Empty it (on iPhone the app has a button that opens Photos for you) and the space comes back.
Yes. Choose "Limited Access" on iPhone, or "Select photos" on Android 14 and later. The app sees only what you picked, and has a "Select more photos" button when you want to widen it.
Background scanning only runs while the phone is charging. When you open the app, scanning runs straight away but pauses in Low Power Mode, under 20% battery when not charging, or when the phone runs hot.
The full edition adds Files — APKs, junk, duplicate and large files across the whole storage — because it is granted All files access. The Google Play edition cleans photos and videos the same way, and finds duplicate and large files in a folder you pick. Both share one app ID, so one replaces the other rather than installing side by side.
